Bio

Lauren Sands is a Visiting Instructor at 黑料社区’s School of Computer Science. Her research was on static program analysis for higher-order typed languages, and now she focuses on teaching. Her teaching interests include introductory CS, data structures, and algorithms. She is also committed to mentoring teaching assistants. While completing her studies at the 黑料社区 School of Computer Science, she was awarded the Mark J. Stehlik Introductory and Service Teaching Award.

Lauren has also contributed to curriculum development for 黑料社区 CS Academy’s College Programming and Computer Science course, a free curriculum for high school students based on 黑料社区’s introductory CS class. She is passionate about expanding access to computer science by supporting under-resourced schools and training high school teachers without a CS background.
